Garden Of Organic Delights

greenfringegarden salon GOOD in the Northwest!

A Hearty Welcome!

Do You Like to Garden?

Are You Curious About How To Make It Easier?

Are You Wanting To Learn More?

Do you Want To Improve Your Health and The Environment?

Well then hello!.  We are gardenoforganicdelights.org a new garden website  and salon for organic/natural gardeners and landscapers based in the Northwest who want to practice natural and sustainable methods, grow food and edible landscaping, learn about restoring habitat and wildlife.

The philosophy of this site is based on our experience of  "Tilth" methods which means we do not advocate the use of synthetic chemicals, herbicides or pesticides.  We also practice methods that are called "organic" but now has also come to mean "sustainable" which means recycling, restoring, and generally trying to conserve resources all within the framework of improving what you have for the purposes better soil and better crops, and for us, within the scope of a home gardener or urban landscape.  Using local products and supporting local produce growers and minimizing our carbon footprint for future generations.

We also advocate creating natural habitat areas adjuctly to veggie and edible plant growing.  Our experience of 23 years of organic gardening is that introducing birds and beneficial insects into your home garden creates an eco-system where insects and disease takes care of itself.  We greatly admire the practitioners and research into "Permaculture" and hope to introduce these concepts as well as a backdrop.  Ultimately the goal is to "knit" the land back together.  Organic gardeners recognize their part in the overall eco-system.  This involves practice as well as a philosophy.

We wanted to create this site and along with it enthusiasm for beginners and link in people interested in Organic Gardening and Landscaping and philosophy.  We live regionally in the Northwest in the South Sound Area but welcome all gardeners and green ideas!

Closing the Loop, Use the Poop! Tagro and Sound Gro For Sustainable Methods

Sustainability means closing the gaps between what you create, what you need and what you use.  We advocate the use of bio-solids in the natural home garden.  Certified organic growers may not use bio-solids in their agriculture.  This may change as products change and standards are so high.  We support the highest standards in certified organic growing.  However, the home gardener and landscaper may use bio-solids with great success and eliminate the need for synthetic fertilizers.  Close the loop, use the poop!.  Using bio-solids on veggies and edibles comes down to personal preference but with higher quality bio-solids as natural soil amendments we definitely advocate their use on lawn and landscape.
