Rainyside Gardeners
www.rainyside.com/
One of the first and best garden sites on the web focused on Pacific Northwest Region Gardening. Excellent articles, advice and people. Moderators are from all over the region including, Washington, Oregon, Olympia, Seattle and Alaska! They are decidedly chemical free gardeners and environmentally aware. Forest Farm
www.forestfarm.com/
A wonderful nursery in Oregon that we have ordered many bareroot plants from with success. The reason why this is a favorite is the extensive plant list and description of plants adapted fro the Northwest. Posted at 6:12pm on Tue, May 05 2009

Garden Web
www.gardenweb.com/
Large website that has been in existence for a long time. It covers all topics and all zones so you have to hunt and peck for things in your area but there is a ton of information and generally really nice gardeners and plant people. Not specifically organic but many of the gardeners who post information do not use chemicals. Posted at 6:23pm on Tue, May 05 2009

Support Michelle Obama's Organic Garden
act.credoaction.com/campaign/wh_garden/?rc=tm
Okay, First Mama, Michelle Obama made headlines when she decided to rip up some lawn to put in an organic White House Garden. Having grown up on several small farms we applaud this effort. Why? Because every American quite honestly should understand where their food comes from and know how to grow some. Kids don't know that eggs and milk come from cows and chickens anymore but think they come out of a box. Regardless of your political affiliation we think we can agree that healthy chemical free food that is reasonably priced is definitely the wave we want to ride. Go Michelle! Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades
www.amazon.com/Growing-Vegetables-West-Cascades-Gardening/dp/1570612404
If you wanted to purchase only (one)! veggie garden book for the Northwest gardener, (we do not think this is possible) this would be the one. It is based on concepts of natural gardening and includes many of the ideas you need to grow veggies West of the Cascades. Many of the ideas are transferable to other parts of the country. An excellent reference book. Posted at 6:35pm on Tue, May 05 2009

Seattle Tilth Maritime-Northwest Garden Guide
www.amazon.com/Maritime-Northwest-Garden-Guide/dp/0931380170
So, you live in the Northwest and you want to plan your garden and you want to make it easy on yourself? This guide will do it. It gives a month by month synopsis of what to plant, what to plan and how to prepare your garden. It is a godsend for lazy gardeners like us. You may purchase it from Seattle Tilth directly as well as Amazon. We think it is a tad cheaper. The coolest thing about this guide is that it gives you the easiest rotation to follow for planting veggies. Posted at 9:36pm on Tue, May 05 2009
